We are Lauren and Dave Hammerle. We started Purham Cattery in February of 2023 with a beautiful Seal Tortie Point and a Red Lynx Point from Kathi and Bill Hoos of Blakewood Cattery. Daisy Mae and My Sunshine are the beginning of what is a long-time dream for me.
I was raised with pedigree cats including Abyssinian, Maine Coon, Balinese, Oriental, Bombay, Burmese and Persian. I fondly remember going to breeders’ homes to meet gorgeous cats as well as enjoying myself at cat shows. My mother jokes that our Burmese, Simba, taught me how to crawl. Years later, I fell in love with our Balinese, Newman. I’ll always remember how he draped himself around my neck. Growing up, I became active in rescue work. I fed colonies as well as did TNR work in my neighborhood. Surely I am not alone in looking forward to leftover turkey from Thanksgiving to give to stray cats outside. After having filled our house and hearts with several rescues, I had a yearning for a pedigree.
Oliver, a Seal Point Colorpoint, is a spunky sweet boy and my first cat from Kathi Hoos of Blakewood Cattery. Seven years later, I have again filled my heart and home; this time with Colorpoint Shorthairs from Blakewood Cattery. Knowing of my desire to carry on the beauty of this breed, Kathi has mentored me to the start of Purham Cattery. January of 2024, our first litter of 5 purrfect kittens was born from Daisy Mae and My Sunshine of Purham Cattery.
Purham Cattery is located in our home with our human children and 2 dogs. Our cats are furever a part of our loving and active family.
